Nomu Terms of Service

Welcome to Nomu! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Nomu mobile application ("App") provided by Nomu ("we," "our," or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Nomu, you confirm that:

• You are at least 13 years of age
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• You agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Nomu is a personal finance tracking application that allows you to:

• Record and categorize expenses manually
• Set and track monthly budgets
• View spending insights and trends
• Receive AI-powered financial advice (educational only)
• Automatically categorize merchants based on learned patterns

Nomu does not connect to your bank accounts or access your financial institutions.

3. AI Advisor Disclaimer

By using the AI Advisor feature, you acknowledge that:

• AI responses are generated automatically and may contain errors
• We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI advice
• AI advice does not consider your complete financial situation
• You should verify any information with qualified professionals
• We make no guarantees about financial outcomes

4. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the accuracy of data you enter into the App
• Keeping your device secure and preventing unauthorized access
• Using the App in compliance with applicable laws
• Not using the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Not attempting to reverse engineer, modify, or tamper with the App

5. Data and Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your information.

Key points:

• All expense data is stored locally on your device
• We do not collect personal identifying information
• AI queries are processed by OpenAI's API
• You can delete all your data at any time

6. Subscription Terms

6.1 Free Tier

The free tier includes:

• Core expense tracking and categorization
• 130+ UAE merchant auto-recognition
• Basic budget management
• AI advisor (3 questions per day)

6.2 Pro Tier (Coming Soon)

The Pro tier will offer additional features for a subscription fee. Subscription terms:

• Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage subscriptions in your App Store account settings
• No refunds for partial subscription periods

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, content, and code, is owned by Nomu and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App
• Reverse engineer or decompile the App
• Use the App's content for commercial purposes
• Remove any proprietary notices from the App

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for any financial losses resulting from use of the App
• We are not liable for decisions made based on AI advice
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any)
• We are not liable for data loss due to device failure or user error

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Nomu, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the App ceases immediately
• Data stored locally on your device remains until you delete it
• Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Displaying a notice in the App for material changes

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Dubai, UAE.
